I have a large plush toy of Humphrey B Bear from sometime in the 1960,s which I picked up in a deceased estate sale in my local area. I thought that you may be interested in him for your collection as he,s in really good condition and should go to someone who appreciates Humphrey for who he is and how many lives he was involved in shaping.

Hi Jason, thanks for getting in touch re Humphrey .. For sure I could be interested in him… Some photos would be great. I will e-mail you my e-address if you can take a photo or two I can identify it and let you know if I’m interested. Since these photos I have acquired some more Humphrey’s so he would be going to a good home.

Cheers Jason. Yeah he is one of the original plush Humphreys made. I am yet to find one that has a makers tag, if they ever came with one…Does yours have a tag?
I have posted above a photo of the one in my collection…you will see he has a straw hat… matching tie, hanky and hat band. This one was acquired in 65 for a young girl by her grandparents.

Hi Julie. Thanks for letting me know about your Humphrey. I am not really in the market for any more HB Bear unless they are something I haven’t got. Thanks again, and for visiting the site.

G’day Kevin. Someone commented on this website and they had large Humphrey they were willing to sell. However there has recently been a few for sale on Ebay. You will find some Aussies who sell to the US. Are you an Aussie living abroad or a curious American?

Hi my collection is growing and I’m not sure if I want to get rid of some or keep them for longer. Just wondering if you could email me how much you think each is worth and if your interested in any. I have 3 different size Humphreys from I think the 1970’s and the 1970’s puppet, the original 1965 Humphrey, a 4 puzzle box set from the original here’s Humphrey show and an original big Mr. squiggles in great condition.

Hi Tash, it’s great you have these Humphreys. At a quick glance most of the Humphreys don’t have a tie, this is usually the thing missing, if you are good at sewing maybe can be made for each.
The Oldest one there is the one on left, it was made by LJ Sterne Aust, he seems to not have his hat. Mr Squiggle looks fine, he is all there, usually the pompom on his hat is missing, he sells around $60 ballpark. Most of these are available on Ebay for around $8 – $20 pending condition, if rarer and in good complete condition with tags then a better price can be fetched. Hope that helps you a bit!

    Hi Pete,

I have one of the 1970’s humphrey that I had as a child (much loved). He lost his hat along the way, and recently both his eyes got taken off by our puppy. (I do still have the jacket and tie)
I have seen you have one in your collection, I was wondering if you could take a close up photo for me so I can make some new eyes for him in the right shape and size.

Redrodeo, no problems, if you let me know which Humphrey I can grab the photo of his eyes facing camera…
Almost all of my Humphreys are boxed & stored but should be able to still get exact measurements… Thanks for visiting.

    Hi Peter,
I have a Humphrey very similar to the one Jason posted a pic of. Mine has the tie but is also missing the hat. My father brought it for me in 1974 when I was born. I was wondering if you could give me an idea of what he may be worth if anything? My wife has been hassling me for keeping him for years.
    Cheers Clay

Gday Clay. Humphrey, when not complete depreciates value, as parts (hat, tie, jacket, etc) arnt easy to source. You can try and sell online but really your wife would be best to display him and cherish the memories. Approx $25 without seeing photo, pending condition…
